Starting platform was a planned clone from a 67.5 1600. Very slow start as I had several military deployments.
Completed front end. New rims and completed rear axle rebuild.
Completed chassis and started the stripping and work on the body.
Teardown and rebuild of 5 Speed with check for splined 5th gear.
After putting the engine on the chassis, I needed to hook up cooling, wiring, and exhaust so I could run it. Then I moved on to start the bodywork.
With a couple year gap due to some deployments, I was fortunate in that time to find a real 1967 SRL. With this new purchase I will have to start over, but at least I have done each of the steps before.
Since 321 needs the correct motor, I had to rebuild its U20. I did a few more steps on this engine and spent more dollars to get it right.
A few more engine pieces. Built a rotisserie to assist with restoration of the bottom and stripped the 67.5 frame for powder coat.
Completed full undercoating. Frame back from powder coat and suspension install, and finally flywheel install and motor moved to frame.
Complete servo 5 speed rebuild with new bearings a few synchro's.
A great year. Completed the frame, did some body work, painted and completed engine compartment, and finally put the body on the frame!
To run the motor I need the water lines hooked up. That led to finishing the floor that was part of a domino effect of restorations.
My garage was getting very full so I decided to build some storage space. I now have a 24x30 space out back.
Finished up the shop and moved everything out there. After everything was set up, I drove the Roadster out there.
